Last year was my first year raising meat chickens in my backyard and I sure could have used this book back then. My sons and I just put together a real makeshift coop that was way to small and the poor birds had to walk in their own feces because I didn’t have proper access and therefore couldn’t clean it properly. I sure didn’t have a very simple chicken coop plan, In fact I don’t think I had any plan at all!
That’s what I really like about this book, it gives you 3 different plans to choose from: 1. A small portable coop 2. A mid size 3. A Large coop depending on your needs. It comes with full color pictures that CCNA 1 Chapter 1 CCNA 1 Chapter 1 anyone can understand and has easy to follow directions to boot!
One part that really got me is Mike says” every chicken should have about 4 square feet of space. That sure would have been nice to know last year about this time, poor Chickens.
If you are very new at the whole backyard chicken thing then you will appreciate the chapters on what breeds to choose, how to care for your baby chicks, common health problems and solutions, buying materials etc. Lots of great insights that I wouldn’t have thought of all over this book. Basically you will find all that you need to know about raising chickens on your own, and even some things you didn’t think you did.
So in your search for Simple Chicken Coop Plans I’m sure you’ll find many different options online but I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a more informative book then this one.
