Movie Review – Mobile

I had an opportunity to watch Cellular the other day and my first thought was that here we go with a different spin-off of Phone Boothanother movie with someone made to keep on the telephone for 90 some minutes while we cringe in our seat. However, to my surprise, this is actually a very entertaining movie. I’m am not quite sure what genre to classify this movie in because it has everything. Suspense, drama, action, comic aid; this movie has all.

The movie begins with the kidnapping of Jessica Martin, performed by Kim Bassinger.
Who gets her home broken into and mysteriously removed to an unknown location by the”bad guys” and placed

in a loft. They smash the phone hanging on the wall and proceed to lock Jessica from the attic. Jessica subsequently”rigs” the broken phone (remember – she’s a science instructor ) and can randomly dial a contact number.
Jessica finds a live amount and lo and behold, it’s Ryan’s mobile phone.
The movie then proceeds from there. Jessica cries for somebody that she does not understand in a desperate request for assistance. Ryan initially gets the standard response that everyone would have when getting a call similar to this, but moves beyond the call of duty in an effort to conserve a woman he doesn’t even understand.
I am not going to be the spoiler and this is all I will tell you, but that is a terrific sleeper movie. Is it a little far fetched? Yes, but so what. Forget about your problems and sit and watch Mobile, I promise you will be disappointed!
